Tiwi Land Council - Permit System

Requirements during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Your permit now includes Covid-safe conditions, such as maintaining hygiene and separation, acting on symptoms and, if you are working, following an acceptable Covid-19 safety plan. Click here to access the NT Government Safety Plan checklist. These conditions align with the principles established by Safework Australia, WorksafeNT and the NT Government.

Applicants who have been in areas of elevated Covid-19 risk should wait 14 days before entering Aboriginal land.

Register for a Business Login

Companies and organisations based on the Tiwi Islands for more than three months can apply to the Tiwi Land Council for a Business Login. A Business Login enables permits to be issued directly to staff working on the Tiwi Islands. Companies and organisations are responsible for their staff observing the Permit Terms and Conditions, and Protocols for Working on the Tiwi Islands. Failure to do so may result in the Business Login being revoked.
If a Business Login is no longer required please notify the Tiwi Land Council as soon as possible.

Business Login applications are assessed by Tiwi Traditional Owners. Please allow 30 working days for processing.
If approved, the Business Contact will be issued with a Login, allowing them to issue permits to staff.
The Business Contact is responsible for all workers observing the Permit Terms and Conditions, Protocols for Working on the Tiwi Islands, quarantine requirements.
